Bobby Calderwood


Bobby started Evident Systems LLC to help companies realize the benefits of DevOps and microservices for their core business systems. Bobby has spoken at conferences and written about achieving better microservices architectures.

Prior to founding Evident Systems, Bobby was a Distinguished Engineer (Director) on the Technology Fellows team at Capital One. While working on a project to modernize a core banking system, Bobby and his team were awarded Capital One’s highest associate honor, the Circle of Excellence Award.

Before joining Capital One, Bobby was Director of Product Engineering at B23 LLC, a startup working on enabling big data solutions in cloud environments. Before B23, Bobby worked on the Product Team at Cognitect building, testing, and helping customers win with Datomic. Bobby’s been writing web applications and distributed systems with Clojure and ClojureScript since 2010, and before that in Java, Ruby and Rails, and client-side techs since 2006.

Ronald P. Hughes

Senior Software Engineer

Ronald is an experienced software engineer and serial entrepreneur. He has been programming in the Java programming language for more than 20 years. He has delivered presentations at the JavaOne conference numerous years, and in 2001 he shared the keynote stage with Java creator James Gosling. He has worked for various Silicon Valley companies including Google, Pure Atria, Frame Technologies, Adobe and Zilog.

Prior to joining Evident Systems, Ronald worked with Bobby Calderwood as a member of the Technology Fellows team at Capital One. He developed prototypes of future technology that could one day replace credit cards as we know them today.

Ronald holds various patents in diverse areas including social media crowd sourcing, domestic entertainment systems, automated logging and debugging technology, and memory management architecture.

Nick Stares

Software Engineer

As an engineer at Evident Systems, Nick works to write robust and maintainable software that simplifies businesses’ operational overheads. Having worked the full stack, Nick’s expertise ranges from building beautiful UIs to developing high performance APIs and managing databases at scale. He has experience in Clojure(script), Javascript, C#, and Ruby.

Before joining Evident Systems, Nick was a full stack developer at Motionsoft LLC, a leading provider of gym management software. He is a graduate of General Assembly’s Web Development Immersive bootcamp.

Besides software engineering, Nick is interested in embodied cognition, agent-based modelling, and linguistics. In his free time he enjoys painting and making music.

Tracey Mustacchio

Advisory Board Member

Tracey Mustacchio is a technology executive who provides expert leadership and innovative approaches to product- and marketing-led transformations and growth strategies. As Chief Product Officer and Chief Marketing Officer, she has helped organizations accelerate growth with a rigorous focus on customer value as the driver of product and business priorities. She has led product teams, R&D teams, marketing teams, and transformation teams, and has built emerging companies and revitalized existing ones as an architect of brands and a demand innovator. In addition to start-ups and venture-backed organizations, she has held leadership roles with large public companies including Nuance, IBM, and McAfee.

In 2016 Tracey was named CMO of the Year by IT World and Marketing Executive of the Year by International Best in Biz. She is a graduate of Virginia Wesleyan College with degrees in Math/Computer Science and Philosophy and was one of ten Wesleyan Scholars.

John Kealey

Advisory Board Member

John Kealey is a founder and managing partner of Chocorua Capital, a venture capital firm based in Reston, VA. He was previously the CEO of Decision Lens Inc., a data analytics firm based in Arlington VA. Prior to that he was the CEO of Vivisimo, acquired by IBM in 2012. He was also the CEO of iDirect Technologies which was sold to Singapore Technologies in 2005.

Mr. Kealey has more than 30 years of in-depth technology experience. He began his career at Coopers & Lybrand and has held a number of executive positions at technology and telecommunication firms. He currently is a member of the Board of Advisors at RF Smart in Jacksonville FL.

He was selected by Via Satellite magazine as the “2004 Satellite Executive of the Year” and The Ernst and Young Washington DC Area Communications “Entrepreneur of the Year” for 2005. He was also recognized as a finalist for “Executive of the Year in 2011” at the American Business Awards. He has been a frequent guest speaker at Stanford University in the Executive Education program lecturing on Entrepreneurial Management, Leadership and the importance of Corporate Culture. Mr. Kealey holds an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
